World

The World theme I started in 2014, but on reflection it has been with me since childhood growing up in the 60s and 70s before easy cheap air travel, looking at maps and the readers digest atlas for hours, pouring over the shapes of countries, exotic names, mountain heights and large watery spaces, opened windows of imagination for the lands, people and their cultures. That wonder was soon realized in my pursuit of travel which started in my teens.

How much has rapidly changed and how small and fragile that world currently feels. In the World series I strive to find expressive metaphors through, surface, touch and physical actions or interventions to those beautiful abstract shapes that we know as our world.
